A dental health check up was organized on 29th and 30th July, 2019 for all classes from Nur. to XII. Regular dental check-ups are a critical part of preventive health care. It helps them to keep their teeth and gums healthy. During the dental check up a team of dental professionals checked the overall oral health for the troubled areas. Plaque and tartar build up was also removed by them. Some students were referred for individual checkups further if they had any problems. They also informed about proper brushing techniques and how to maintain their oral hygiene. The objective of the camp was spreading oral hygiene awareness and to teach the right way of brushing teeth. The students benefitted by getting awareness about oral health and hygiene.

Little Chef activity was conducted on 22nd August, 2019 where the students of class-I made delicious bhelpuri. It was a without flame cooking activity and the budding chefs participated in it with enthusiasm.
They brought the ingredients from their home and prepared the delicacy on their own with the guidance of the teacher. The children relished relished the self made snack.
All the children were very excited and this effort was appreciated by Principal madam and the teachers. A little effort combined with teamwork results in a great learning environment. It is an innovative way to promote student participation.
To highlight the health risks associated with tobacco use, WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY, designated by the World Health Organization is observed every year on May 31. In sync with the directives of CBSE to generate awareness on this issue, the Heritage Club of the Red Roses Public School , started the Anti Tobacco Campaign under the guidance of Incharge Ms Esha Goyal (PGT). On this occasion the students prepared thought provoking posters in Poster Making Competition organized for Classes X & XII on May 31, 2019. All students of both the classes participated enthusiastically. The selected posters were then displayed in the school with the messages on the negative effects of the use of tobacco.
Everyday in our lives, there are moments of celebrations. And we celebrate these moments with food and beverages. So, to beat the heat and to celebrate “World Health Day”, Health & Wellness Club in Red Roses Public School, Palam Vihar organised “Rooh Afza Day” on 10th May, 2019.
Highlights of the Activity
- Students were told about the medicinal benefits of Rooh Afza drink as-
- a). it helps to reduce dehydration.
- b). it gives immense freshness and energy.
- c). it controls body heat and temperature.
- d). it improves haemoglobin content in blood.
- e). it is useful in case of vomiting and diarrhea.
- f). it is useful in stomachache and helps to gain weight.

Students were told about the meaning of Rooh Afza made of two words- Rooh means “Soul” and Afza which means “which nourishes”. So Rooh Afza word implies “a beverage that nourishes the soul”. It consists of various ingredients like fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and roots.

Students prepared Rooh Afza by mixing it with water and sugar. They enjoyed drinking it with their friends and teachers with a promise to drink it to stay healthy and avoid the use of packaged juices and cold drinks.
REPORT ON ICE-CREAM WEEK (03-05-2019 to 13-05-2019)
In order to beat the sweltering heat of the summer and to rejuvenate the dull spirits, an ice-cream week was organized for the classes Nursery-XII. Students enjoyed eating ice-cream with their class teachers and class mates. It lifted the mood of the whole environment and left smiles on children’s faces. They enjoyed vanilla and strawberry flavours. We took the opportunity to brief about the nutritional benefits of ice-cream like bone- strengthening calcium, blood-pressure lowering potassium and energizing B vitamins. The students were also informed about hygiene aspects of ice-cream as they must wash their hands before and after eating it , wipe off their mouth, must through wrappers in the dustbin.
