- Bring school almanac/diary everyday to school.
- Note down your homework and other school programs in it.
- Every note given by the teacher in it must be shown to parents and got signed by them.
- Keep your diary, all other books and notebooks neat and clean.
- Parents must check the school diary regularly for teacher's remarks / messages and sign it. Also note the Home work assigned daily help the child to attempt all assigned tasks.
Creating a sense of environmental awareness among all sections of our society particularly the students is of paramount importance. There is a greater need to inculcate the values of respect, love and concern for nature amongst them. To encourage the same, a list of Green rules is mentioned below which needs to be followed with great care and concern.
- Keep your surrounding clean by making use of dustbins to throw the litter. Separate dustbins for disposal of paper waste and biodegradable waste is kept in every classroom.
- Use environment-friendly products such as paper bags steel bottles and tiffin’s, butter paper for wrapping bread instead of polythene bags, plastic files and folders, plastic bottles and tiffin’s boxes, aluminum foils to conserve the environment.
- Avoid plucking of leaves or flowers.
- Clean your bag, books, uniform and other articles regularly.
- Switch off the lights & fans and turn off the taps while not in use to conserve the scarce resources of electricity and water.
- Make judicious use of paper to save trees. A small step on the part of every child would bring a large impact to sustain the environment.
- Plant a tree on your birthday and take good care of it.
- Play more outdoor activities instead of using gadgets for all-round development.
Identity Cards
- Each child will be issued 2 identity cards – one to be worn daily and the other to be kept with the parents. Parents need to carry it while attending school and at the time of picking up their ward at the bus stop. No child will be permitted to leave the school earlier than the closure time of the school.
- A student can be sent home only with a person authorised by the parents in writing.
- If any student loses the Almanac or Identity card, a fine of `. 50/- shall be levied apart from the cost of the new one.
Attendance
- A child must attend school on all working days. Efforts should be made towards attaining 100% attendance, leave taking should be avoided. One day’s absence creates a learning gap of at least 3 days.
- For any absence from school, intimation must reach the school same day followed by written application on the following day.
- In case of leave for 3 days or more due to medical reasons, a medical certificate must be submitted.
- Name of a student absenting without justification continuously for 10 days is liable to be struck off from school rolls and security deposit will be forfeited.
Punctuality
- School main gate is closed at 7:55 a.m.
- Late comers are fined and marked absent for the first half day.
Discipline
- Students are expected to abide by the rules of the school, failing which they shall face strict disciplinary action.
- Students must obey class monitors/ prefects in the absence of teacher, to maintain discipline and good order.
- During a lesson, students are allowed to enter or leave the class room only when it is urgent and that too with the teacher's permission.
- No student shall indulge in disruptive or rude behaviour or violence of any kind, in or outside the school.
- The school reserves the right to suspend or take strict disciplinary action against the student whose progress in academics is constantly unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to others or school as a whole.
- Neglect of homework, irregularity in attendance, irregular payment of fee and misbehavior in school will attract disciplinary action.
- Assignments given must be completed and sent back after signature the next day.
- Students should not bring crackers, transistors, cameras, calculators, toys, mobile phones etc. to the school. All such items will be confiscated and strict action taken against defaulters.
- Carrying pocket-money to the school should be discouraged. It will be allowed only for purchase of any stationery item or on canteen day.
- Instruct your ward to be careful about his/her belongings. There should be a name tag on bags, books, note books, blazer, sweater, belt and shoes.
- Students should come to school in clean and well ironed school uniform with polished shoes.
- Students should avoid carrying expensive accessories to the school.
- Your ward should be given a time table and encouraged to adhere to the same.
- As the medium of instruction is English, it will help the students if regular English conversation is practiced at home also.
- Encourage your ward to take interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
- Avoid giving private tuitions. Private Tuitions by the school teachers is not permitted. If there is real need of a private tutor, he/she may be engaged in consultation with the Principal. Extra classes are held for weak students. Parents are requested to make sure that their wards attend these classes in case of need.
The school celebrates every child’s birthday and sends a birthday card to him/her. The birthday child (Pre-School to V) can come to the school in a formal party dress; casual clothes and footwear are not allowed on Birthday. Children can share a good story book with the class in the book nook section of the class library. Parents/ Grandparents are welcome to spend some time with the child and his/her classmates to narrate them stories. No return gifts are allowed except sweets.
To give shape to the process of learning through experience, the school conducts educational trips to historical places, national museums, science centers and eco-friendly environs. Parents must encourage their children to take part in them.
Pre-School & Pre-Primary students
- Two Handkerchiefs should be sent in pocket everyday.
- Napkins provided by the school should be sent with the tiffin.
- Tiffin should not be messy. Avoid giving ketchup, pickles and junk food.
- Child should be toilet-trained. Otherwise, class teacher should be informed.
- Deposit one extra dress in the beginning of the session.
- Children are very sensitive about teacher’s behaviour towards them. It is therefore very important that any change in family circumstances or an untoward event at home be shared with Principal or Class Teacher.
- Students are not allowed to go to their friend’s place for birthday/ farewell, parties etc. directly from school.
- Parents visiting the school must be formally dressed.
- They must keep the school office updated with the latest contact number or change of address.
- Parents/ guardians are not allowed to visit their wards or teachers in class rooms unless called during PTM.
- Criticism of the teachers or the school in the presence of the student should be avoided because it causes the student to lose respect for the teachers and school.
- Parents dropping their wards in the morning or picking them up in the afternoon from school are requested to adhere to school timings.
- Parents should check their ward’s bag regularly just to make sure that the child does not carry any sharp or objectionable items to the school.
- Keep talking to your child about his/her friends and company.
- Provide your child simple lunch box, pencil box and water bottles as fancy items or accessories can distract other children.
Today, time is a rare commodity and yet it is the best gift that you can give to your child. The time you spend with your child is an investment for your future. So remember to
- Play with your child.
- Go out for picnics and outings on holidays.
- Have at least one meal in a day together.
- Listen patiently and answer truthfully to your child.
- Let your child run errands for you at home.
- Give your child a free hand on household chores.
Become a Role Model for your child
Reinforce socially acceptable behaviour at home. Encourage your child to:-
- Share with others
- Play fair
- Put things back in place
- Not hit anyone
- Ask permission before taking other’s things
- Say “Sorry” on doing something wrong
- Say “Please” when in need of help.
- Say “Thank You” when someone helps or offers something.
- Not make fun of others
- Wish good morning, good night etc.
- I feel safe when you are firm with me.
- Caution me for my mistakes at an early stage.
- Correct me (in private) but not in front of others.
- Ignore my unreasonable demands otherwise I will get spoiled.
- Satisfy my curiosity to know, don’t drive me to others.
- Don’t rebuke me constantly- I may turn a deaf ear.
- It is annoying being told I am a baby.
- My childhood values are hurt if you project mistakes as sin.
- Let me learn from my mistakes the hard way.
- Help me come out of my fears.
- Don’t take too much notice of my small ailments.
- Be uniformly consistent in your behaviour.
- Allow me to experiment - I will learn this way better.
- Take care of your health as I love and need you very much.
- Be truthful with me otherwise I will lose confidence in you.
- Spare me your time so that I can share my entire day’s happenings with you.
- Speak to me in tone and words that you wish I would use with others.
- Express your love for me every day. I will feel secure.
- Involve me in doing chores at home that will enable me to become responsible.
- Allow me to pursue my passion so that I may gain those extra skills, enabling me to have high self-esteem and confidence.
- Trust me and help me to build transparent relationship with you.
- Help me to confide in you as I need your guidance and counseling while I am growing up.
