To engage and enlighten the students, an Inter class quiz was conducted on various topics for Pre-Primary ON 4TH December, 2019.
The students were divided into five teams of two students in each. The quiz began with the introduction of each team and the names of team members. The students participated with great enthusiasm with a winning spirit. The questions asked were related to different topics like flowers, community helpers, body parts, zoo, birds and colors.
All the students were well prepared and answered the questions confidently. As a result there was no clear winner of the quiz. Team B (Saksham Patel, Daksh Goswami), Team D (Jigisha Singh, Hema Yadav) and Team F (Mehul Bhayana, Pushti Jhamb) scored First position. Team C (Dhruv Sharma, Ekam Bhateja) and team A (Aarav Kaushik, Ananya Singh) secured got Second and Third position respectively.
“Show and Tell” is a powerful tool for self-expression and developing language and communication of the child. An integral part of Pre-Primary, “Show and Tell competition” was conducted on 27th January, 2020 with the aim of providing stage exposure and public speaking to the little buds.
The main idea of the competition was to engage the students to their belongings and choose the favourite one, arrange informations about that and then speaking in front of the class.
The theme of the competition was “My Favourite Toy” and the basis of judgement were Introduction, Speech, Content, Presentation and Conclusion. Students were very excited as they were going to speak about their favourite toy. They spoke confidently and happily with their toys in hands.
Jigisha Singh who beautifully portrayed her doll scored First position. Hema Yada got Second Position who described her toy dog. Ayushi Negi also spoke about her doll and secured Third position.
DRAWING AND COLORING COMPETITION
Drawing and Coloring competition is important to develop a child’s creativity and imagination. Through drawing they are able to portray their thinking with the help of colors.
To enhance their creativity, a Drawing and coloring competition was conducted on 6th February, 2020 for Pre-Primary. Students were allowed to draw anything of their choice with the help of their imagination. The budding artists made wonderful drawings of huts, flowers, trees, children and many more. Ayushi Negi, Ananya Singh and Jigisha Singh scored First, Second and Third position respectively.
Janmashtami Celebration
The birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in RRPS, Palam Vihar. The tiny tots of Pre-School and Pre-Primary came traditionally dressed up as Radha and Lord Krishna on 22nd August, 2019.
A special assembly was conducted in which many cultural programme related to Lord Krishna were showcased. Students decorated matki with beautiful mirrors, , stars and ribbons. They also made coconut laddu as a offering to Lord Krishna in “Little Chefs” activity. These activities are useful to enhance their creativity and to develop fine motor skills. Also such types of activities bring students closer to Indian culture and traditions.
They were also told about Lord Krishna’s birth story that increased their vocabulary and knowledge about our culture and traditions.
Students enjoyed the celebration thoroughly and cherished every moment of it.
NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY
In India, the National Mathematics Day is observed on December 22 every year. It is celebrated in order to honor the birth anniversary of the famous mathematician Sir Srinivasa Ramanujan.
We, at Red Roses Public School, also celebrated the day on December 21 by engaging the students in different fun-filled math activities through which they understood and learnt the various concepts easily. The tiny tots of class Pre-Primary did the activity “Addition is Fun” by playing Snakes & Ladders through which they learnt the addition of two single digit numbers.
The second activity was “Hungry Bird” in which students acted as a hungry bird who wanted to eat more toffees from two set of toffees placed on the table. By this activity they leant the concept of “Greater than” & “Less than”. Students were delighted to do these activities and learnt the concepts in a playful manner.
DEVI ROHATGI
“Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it.”
To engage and enlighten the students, an Inter-class GK Quiz was organized for the class Pre-Primary on 14th December, 2018. The quiz consisted of various topics like animals, colors, body parts, fruits, vegetables, community helpers etc.
All the students were divided into seven teams consisting of three students each. The quiz began with the introduction of teams- Team-A to Team-G. The rules were announced. All the teams participated in the quiz with great enthusiasm and answered all the questions confidently. Beside gaining knowledge, students also acquired certain values such as discipline, team spirit and patience. The enthusiasm to answer correctly on their turn was truly praiseworthy. The quiz was a great success and students enjoyed it a lot. The team which emerged as the winner was Team-G consisting of Vihaan Kohli, Vishesh Tingal and Viraj S. Wakchaure. Congratulations to all the participants.
To beat the scorching heat and to stay cool, Ice cream Week was organized for classes Pre-School-XII.
Students enjoyed eating ice creams with their class mates and teachers.
Ice cream is a perfect dessert full of variety of flavours and full of milk and cream. Students were advised to have it in summer if they don’t have any health issues.
Parents are those special people who possess a place of immense importance in every child’s life. They show selfless care, love and patience to bring up their child in the best possible way. So, we, at Red Roses Public School, Palam Vihar celebrated “Parents’ Day” on 4th May, 2019 to honor the love and care of the parents.
The students of Pre-School and Pre-Primary dedicated some lovely poems to their parents. Students presented attractive and colorful cards to their parents and acknowledge them for their unconditional love and care.
To make the day more memorable many fun-filled games were organised for the parents in which they participated enthusiastically. In couple games, Mrs. And Mr. Vipin Bhateja (Parents of Ekam Bhateja) were the winner of the game “My child, my heart” and “Balance the Ball”. Mrs. and Mr. Amiteshwar Singh (parents of Avni Nandhra) were the winner of “Newspaper dance “ and Quiz which was related to child’s favourite things. In individual games, Mrs. Poonam Yadav (Parents of Hema yadav) was the winner of Quiz which was related to child’s favourite things.The winners were greeted with Appreciation certificates and creative mugs by our Head Mistress Ms Seema Chhibbar. Parents rocked the dance floor with their amazing dance moves. Some parents shared their childhood experiences and the importance of parents in one’s life.
All the parents appreciated the effort of celebrating Parents’ Day and strengthening the family bonding. The success of the event was evident through the happy and joyful smiles of the parents.
Everyday in our lives, there are moments of celebrations. And we celebrate these moments with food and beverages. So, to beat the heat and to celebrate “World Health Day”, Health & Wellness Club in Red Roses Public School, Palam Vihar organised “Rooh Afza Day” on 9th April, 2019.
Highlights of the Activity:
- Students were told about the medicinal benefits of Rooh Afza drink as-
- a) it helps to reduce dehydration.
- b) it gives immense freshness and energy.
- c) it controls body heat and temperature.
- d) it improves haemoglobin content in blood.
- e) it is useful in case of vomiting and diarrhea.
- f) it is useful in stomachache and helps to gain weight.
- Students were told about the meaning of Rooh Afza made of two words- Rooh means “Soul” and Afza which means “which nourishes”. So Rooh Afza word implies “a beverage that nourishes the soul”. It consists of various ingredients like fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and roots.
- Students prepared Rooh Afza by mixing it with water and sugar. They enjoyed drinking it with their friends and teachers with a promise to drink it to stay healthy and avoid the use of packaged juices and cold drinks.
Red Roses Public School, Palam Vihar organized Graduation Day on 16th March, 2019 for the young ones of class Pre-Primary. The occasion was graced by our Principal ma’am Ms Ritu Bedi and special guest Ms Minakshi Nijhawan, former English teacher at Red Roses Public School, Saket, New Delhi. The celebration commenced with Diya lighting and prayer to evoke the blessings of Almighty. A beautiful song was presented by the students to welcome the parents and guests.
Cleanliness is the main motto of RRPS to stay healthy and fit. To spread the message, students presented a skit on “Healthy Lifestyle” and encouraged everyone to follow healthy habits and exercise routine. They also told about the practices followed in order to stay healthy and fit. After that, students danced gracefully on “You lift me up” to acknowledge the love and care they get from their parents. The heart touching song left everyone spell bound.
To show their love towards environment and surrounding, students performed on “”. The most important part of the day “Graduation Day” began with the tiny tots dressed up in Graduation robes and caps walking the stage. The Principal ma’am and the special guest felicitated the students with certificates and result. Special appreciation certificates were given to winners of “Show and Tell Competition” and students who secured marks 90% and above.
The class toppers, Soumya Tewari, Anika Singla and Viraj Sandeep Wakchaure securing First, Second and Third Position respectively were felicitated with the trophies “SCHOLAR OF THE YEAR”. It was indeed a joyous and memorable day for the little ones as they are entering into a new phase of school life.

Red Roses Public School, Palam Vihar celebrated “Open Day” for the parents of Pre-School children on 16th March 2019. The parents got an in-house experience of the school and were enamored by a host of activities performed by the tiny tots. The day started with the chanting of mantras by the students followed by an English prayer to evoke the blessings of the lord.
Then they flawlessly recited twenty-five to thirty nursery rhymes one after the other which the audience appreciated a lot. Also, they recited Hindi rhymes with rhythm, action and expression. Children shared their valuable information regarding identification of the colors, continents of the world, geometric solid, talk on nature walk and story narration.
The children were given interesting titles which the audience also applauded. The program ended with annual result distribution. The main motive of the program was to develop confidence among children and show case their learnings of the entire sessions.
An Inter-class Hindi Recitation Competition was organized on 1st May, 2019 at Red Roses public School, Palam Vihar for class Pre-Primary.
Children enjoy singing rhymes and express their thoughts, feelings and rhythm with the help of it. Taking all these facts in consideration the children were encouraged to participate to showcase their talent and confidence.
The students presented different rhymes on various topics like birds, animals, sun, flowers, birds, family values etc. with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students were judged on the basis of Introduction/Conclusion, Clarity, Voice modulation, Actions/Expressions, Content and usage of Props.
Dhruv Sharma got the First Position who spead the message: To live in harmony with our family members by singing the rhyme “चुन्नू मुन्नू दो भाई ”; Mehul Bhayana sang the rhyme “हाथी राजा” confidently and got Second Position. Ayushi Negi grabbed the Third Position by singing the rhyme “पौली बैग ” and spread the message to minimize the use of poly bags.
To provide experiential learning in a fun way, Red Roses Public School celebrated “Mango Day” on 19th July, 2019 for the tiny tots of Pre-School and Pre-Primary. It was a sweet and juicy morning as all the students brought mango in various forms.
The day started with a general conversation of the fruit, its colour and taste. Teachers brief the students about the various ways of its consumption as Mango shake, Aam pana, pickle, chutney, juice, jam etc.
Besides being a learning activity, it was also a medium of language development for the students.
The students also participated in a craft activity of doing bud printing on the drawing of mango fruit.
The students enjoyed and relished the various items of mango with their friends and teachers. It was a day of Mango Delight.
Students of class Pre-School and Pre-Primary had a wonderful day on 25th September as they had a spiritual outing to “PLACES OF WORSHIP”. Students visited Gurudwara, Temple, Mosque and Church with a belief that all religions are equal and we should love all forms of God.
First of all, students visited Gurudwara where they prayed in front of the Holy book “Guru Granth Sahib” and received “Karah Prasad” as a blessing of Guru Nanak Dev. After that, they went to Shakti Mandir and worshipped different Gods and Goddess. They prayed God to help them to be good and obedient to their elders. They saw Mosque and learnt about Namaz. At last, they visited St. Peter’s church and prayed in front of Lord Jesus. They were told about that we call God by different names but God is One. So we should respect all religions.
Students enjoyed the trip a lot and learnt to live in peace and harmony and respect each other’s faith and religion.
