On 24th Dec, 2019 our school celebrated Christmas Day in the school ground. A special assembly was organized wherein students sung beautiful carols to mark the day. Few students were dressed up as Santa and distributed toffees to all the students and the entire staff of the school. The students of class IX presented a role play on Mathematics to give tribute to Ramanujan, a great mathematician. The day ended with wishing Merry Christmas to each other along with New Year wishes.
Human Right Day was celebrated in our school on 12th December 2019, a general discussion took place in which all the teachers and students participated and the importance of Human Right Day was taught to everyone.
It was 71st anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the theme for Human Right Day 2019 was Standing Up for Human Right, in this we discussed certain rights like Right to Vote, Right to Equality, Right to Justice, Right for our Dignity and the most important is Right to Education. Students asked certain doubts. Our aim was to showcase potential of youth as constructive agents of change for the promotion and the protection of rights and in the end the outcome was very commendable as students got to know about their basic Human Rights as the young citizens of India.
Report on BMVBMUN Conference
Students of class XI of our school participated in Model United Nations Conference on 28th and 29th November, 2019 held at Balwantray Mehta Vidhya Bhawan ASMA, Greater Kailash, New Delhi.
The conference brought together more than 70 student delegates. There were 4 committees viz. United Nations General Assembly comprising of 20 delegates, United Nations Security Council with 20 delegates, Lok Sabha with 15 delegates, All India Political Parties’ Meet with 18 delegates. Our students participated in All India Political Parties’ Meet committee, where delegates represented personalities from the divergent group of Indian political parties. It is a dynamic committee which brings into light the diverse political perspectives and groups to probe and analyse the issues of national importance and arrive at a consensus. Meenakshi (Class XI) represented Manish Sisodia, AAP and Harsh Bansal (Class XI) represented Rajnath Singh, BJP.
Our students researched and debated on the topic ‘Checking the Authenticity of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), 2019’. The students researched extensively towards questioning the legality and constitutionality of the bill passed.
The confidence, zeal and enthusiasm with which the delegates participated revealed their level of interest. Meenakshi (Class XI) got the ‘Special Mention’ award and Harsh Bansal (Class XI) got ‘Verbal Mention’ award.
By attending this conference, the students learnt to address the formal debates. This helped to enhance their public speaking and leadership skills.

14 सितंबर 1949 को भारतीय संविधान में हिंदी भाषा को राजभाषा का दर्जा प्राप्त हुआ | हर वर्ष इस दिन को हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है | इसी उपलक्ष्य में रेड रोज़िज़ पब्लिक स्कूल में हिंदी सप्ताह का आयोजन किया गया | जिसमें सभी कक्षाओं के विद्यार्थियों के लिए अलग-अलग प्रतियोगिताएँ निर्धारित की गई थीं | इन प्रतियोगिताओं में भाषण-प्रतियोगिता, संवाद प्रतियोगिता, कविता-वाचन, अनुच्छेद व पत्र-लेखन आदि विषय सम्मिलित किए गए | कक्षा पहली व दूसरी के छात्रों ने कविता-वाचन में भाग लिया, कक्षा तीसरी व चौथी के छात्रों ने व्याकरण ज्ञानोत्सर्जन, कक्षा पाँचवी व सातवीं के छात्रों ने पत्र-लेखन, कक्षा छठी व आठवीं के छात्रों ने अनुच्छेद-लेखन व कक्षा नौवीं-दसवीं के छात्रों ने संवाद, भाषण एवं विज्ञापन लेखन में भाग लिया | इनके माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों की हिंदी भाषा के प्रति रूचि बढ़ी | उन्होंने हिंदी विषय के महत्त्व तथा उपयोगिता को जाना और समझा | वर्तमान समय में हिंदी के बढ़ते वर्चस्व का ज्ञान भी उन्हें हुआ |

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a political ethicist who employed non-violent resistance to lead the successful campaign for India's independence from British Rule was born on October 2, 1869. Fondly remembered as the Father of the Nation, he is known to have inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. Mahatma Gandhi's birthday, October 2, is not only commemorated in India as Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday, but is celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Non-violence.
The 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is an ideal time to remember his principles of truth and non-violence and his uncompromising commitment to them. Under the directives of CBSE to mark the celebrations, Red Roses Public School, Palam Vihar took an initiative and organized various activities in the school premises where students actively participated and encouraged each other with the Gandhian principles of truth and non-violence.

Prayers and Bhajans (23.09.2019)
The students of classes VI to VIII sung prayers and bhajjans explaining the values and ideals of Bapu ji. The songs were- “वैष्णव जन तो तेने कहिये, जे पीड परायी जाणे रे “ and “ हे राम, हे राम ”
Dance, Skit and Fancy Dress on the life of Gandhi ji (24.09.2019) A dance based on Bollywood music, fancy dress on the outfits of Mahatma Gandhi and a skit was conducted to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with the objective of enlightening the children about the life of Mahatma Gandhi and the freedom struggle of India. They enacted the scenes of his childhood, his fight against Britishers, Dandi March, Satyagraha to the Independence and his death. The skit was a mesmerizing experience in which Children learned the message of honesty and non violence. The children participated in the activity with great zeal and learned about the greatness of our Bapu.
Special Cleaniness Drive in and around the school (25.09.2019)
In order to create awareness about Swachhata mission and as a part of activities under 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, school organised a Cleanliness Drive in and around it's vicinity. Students of classes VI and X participated in the drive. As part of the drive, students cleaned their classrooms and school corridors and surrounding areas in the locality. They also took out a rally outside the school premises and encouraged the public to maintain cleanliness in and around their surroundings. They chanted a few encouraging slogans as well. The students enjoyed the cleanliness drive and also learnt about the importance of this mission in their life.
Story Narration, Speech, Debate and Elocution on different aspects of truthfulness and non-violence (26.09.2019)
On the occasion of 150 Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a story narration session was conducted for the students of Pre-School and Pre-Primary. The story “Monia” was narrated to the students which described Gandhi ji’s childhood when he was known as “Monia”. Students got to know about young Mahatma Gandhi. They learnt to obey their parents, live in peace and follow the path of non-violence through the story.
Speech, Debate and Elocution Competition were also conducted for the students of classes V, VI and IX. The topics for the same were- Biography of Mahatma Gandhi, Gandhi’s role in the Indian Independence Movement and Gandhi’s principles of Basic Education. Here, students actively took part and spoke about the ‘Father of the Nation’ and expressed their love and respect for him.
Poem, Essay and Slogan-Writing (to teach ‘Sadachar’ and ‘Seva’ ) on ‘How is Gandhi relevant today’ (27.09.2019)
Poem, Essay and Slogan writing competition were organized for classes- I to V on the occasion of 150th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on September 27, 2019 in the school premises. The aim of this competition was to give a message of ‘Sadachar’ and ‘Seva’ so that it becomes a memorable motto leaving certain message on the minds of students so that they can imbibe these values in their lives.
Painting and Drawing Activity (28.09.2019)
In order to pay tribute to our ‘Father of the Nation’, students to classes VII – IX enthusiastically participated in Painting and Drawing activities showcasing his ideals of truth and non-violence and also his dream of ‘Swachha and Samradh Bharat’.
Panel Discussion on Contributions of Moderates and Extremists (30.09.2019)
In order to memorize unforgettable contribution of Mahatma Gandhi towards Indian Independence Movements, a panel discussion was conducted for the students of classes IX to XII, where students were grouped as Extremists and Moderates. They described their roles during the freedom struggle of Independence.
Quiz Competition on life of Gandhi and Exhibition of Drawing and Painting (01.10.2019)
An educational tour to Gandhi Smriti, New Delhi was organized for all classes to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Though the tour had already been already conducted on the 22nd December, 2018, the occasion brought back memories of this fun-filled educational trip.
The students learnt about Gandhi’s life, his contributions and important events that took place during the struggle for independence. They were amazed to find that Gandhiji had spent his last 144 days at Gandhi Smriti. The spot of Gandhiji’s assassination gave the students emotional and patriotic goose bumps. This trip taught them the values of truth, non-violence and unity.
A quiz competition was also organized in the school for junior classes to encourage the students to widen their knowledge on the ‘Father of the Nation’. There were five teams- A, B, C, D and E. The competition was divided in two rounds with 25 questions based on Gandhiji’s life.
The International Day of Non-Violence is observed on 1st October, 2019 on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, in which students of classes III-V recited different rhymes on the topic “Sadachar and Seva”. Beauty is the realm of the poetry, the children enjoy the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Taking all these facts into consideration the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence.
